Creative Action

for Social Change.

Through performance, storytelling, poetry, music, masks, and visual arts, we provide inspiring programmes that invite creativity, personal development, and platform the voices of seldom heard communities to stimulate debate and deeper understanding.

We specialise in working with people affected by the Criminal Justice System, as well as with local community groups and a wide range of professional teams.

BearFace Theatre believes in creative action for social change and uses Applied Theatre and a wide range of creative arts to deliver bespoke multi-arts based programmes.

Arts & Criminal Justice Research Launch

We felt very proud to launch the Evaluation Research Report by Alexandra Russell examining BearFace Theatre’s projects at HMP Winchester from 2018-2025 on Tuesday 14th October. Our audience heard from the Researcher, professionals involved in the project, participants and staff from the prison.

As part of the Winchester Cathedral Law Week Festival 2025, BearFace Theatre staged an immersive and thought provoking headphone theatre performance exploring the Criminal Justice System.

In the community

We are delivering workshops in schools that aim to support young people and their teachers to explore some of the challenges they might face in the future, empowering them to make healthy decisions with their peers.

So far we have delivered over 500 workshops to over 8,000 young across Hampshire…And the project has just been extended!!
